Life... In June

Life lately has been very low-key. We have stayed at home a lot and just enjoyed being a family. We made a trip to Oregon, but have been home most of the month. Ephraim has become very interested in "helping" Selah. He will make sure she has toys and likes to have tummy time with her.
I am really enjoying this time of life. I love being out and about - but I really enjoy being home. Some people might get bored with the amount of time we stay home, but I don't. The kids and I go running/walking and play lots of games inside and out.
When Forrest gets home he gets out of his work clothes and the oldest jumps on him. Sometimes I help the youngest one join in the fun.

Both kids are getting so big in their own ways. Selah holds her head up nice and strong and Ephraim's vocabulary is exploding. He adds new words all of the time and consistently says 2 word phrases.

The Zoo

We headed down to Oregon on Thursday night to Forrest's parents. On Friday we all went to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and we had to park in the overflow lot, but once we got into the zoo, it didn't seem too crowded.

Selah chilled in her stroller for most of the time.
Ephraim coming down the log tunnel by the eagles. He got grandma to come down the tunnel too, but I missed that picture opportunity.
The had a hand painting station where you could put your handprint on the wall surrounding the new gorilla exhibit. It took awhile, but Ephraim finally agreed to give it a try.
He then thought it was pretty neat to have paint on his hands.
Daddy helped him.
The end result.
Father and son.
Momma and daughter.
Ephraim thought this leopard was pretty cool.

Mispronunciations

One thing I love about Ephraim right now is his growing vocabulary. He seems to add a word every day. Today he learned soccer - "soccy" He often removes letters and adds the "ee" sound to almost everything. Some words come out close to swear words. Here is a list of his newer words.
"mammies" - jammies
"pourie" - pour
"fy" - fly
"chuck" - truck
"match" - socks (we play a matching game every day with his socks and that is why he calls them match - I guess it is an improvement from calling them "shoes")
"fook" - fork and spoon
"mine"
"purple" - poopy
"shits" - shorts (this one is my absolute favorite and it makes me laugh every morning)

Favorite Things

A few of my favorite things lately:

This hat.
My favorite girl in overalls, pink converse, and her brown hat
Ephraim in his superman hat

Just for comparison - Ephraim in the overalls (June 2008)
Selah in the overalls (June 2010)
