Random Fact

Eph made it to 2 and a half before he had general anesthesia.  Selah made it to 2 and one month.  Forrest made it four.  Me?  I made it to almost 36. I'm sure I will share more about why I needed to have surgery sometime soon - but let's pray and hope that Kinsley takes after me and not the rest of her family.

Meet Hoppy

Meet "Hoppy."  The wild bunny that lives under our shed.  So far he has only nibbled on my radishes, and I am hoping it stays that way.

Ugg

This morning at swim lessons, this baby found a puddle in the bathroom and sat and played in it.  Right after I had out clean clothes on her.

Father's Day Baseball Game

One of our friends offered me free tickets to the mariners game for Father's Day.  I couldn't say no.  Mariners games are more my thing than Forrest's (I think my dream job would be to be in charge of the music they play at ball games) but we all had fun.
The roof was on because it was raining, but the atmosphere was great.  Kinsley fell asleep at the very end of the game.
Selah and her friend Beckett tried really hard to get on the jumbo tron, but were not successful (we now have a new goal for Selah). The mariners won and it was a good day for all.

Adventure at Ballard Locks

My goal for this summer is to take the kids on more adventures. To explore parts of the Seattle area that we have never been to before. Our first adventure: The Hiram Chittenden Locks. We walked over the big lock just before the started to open it to let a bunch of boats out to sea.
It was pretty impressive how many boats fit in the big lock.
I texted Forrest asking why he hasn't bought me this boat yet, but he didn't respond.
After crossing the small lock, which they were loading with sailboats. We went to the fish ladder.
There weren't any salmon today, but they are expecting a big run soon.
On our way back over the locks there was an Argosy cruise boat headed into lake Union in the small lock and this large fishing boat in the large lock.  I could have watched for a bit longer, but the kids wanted to run.
The locks are surrounded by a botanical garden, so I let them loose.  I also took a picture of Kinsley to prove she was there.

He loves me

On Saturday when I was showing Forrest the progress I had made, I mentioned that eventually I would like a bench back there.  That night, he started making me a bench with some materials that we had.  I love that he designed it himself.  I love that he heard my dream and fulfilled it.  I married well.

The back corner

If you have ever been to our house, you know that the back corner beneath our deck has been an eyesore for 7 years.  Nothing grows back there due to our neighbor's large fir trees and it is then covered with an ugly combination of weeds, pine needles and fallen tree limbs.

This weekend I decided to do something about it. Forrest had sprayed all of the weeds a few weeks ago so I had the kids help me rake them up.
Day one's progress.
The view from our deck after day two.  I had to stop because I ran out of weed cover and yard waste bins.
Not perfect, but already a huge improvement.

Best homeschool day ever

Today we arrived at Safeco field at 9:30 to attend Weather Education Day.  It was 70 degrees when we sat down for the presentation.
Steve Pool from KOMO played a weather game with all the kids, they showed some fun weather videos, and then demonstrated how avalanches form.  We then got in a crazy long line for our free lunch.
We arrived at our seats and enjoyed the spectacular Seattle skyline.
A little cotton candy.
The baby slept through the first three innings.
We got to meet the Mariner Moose and then played in the Children's play area.
Three sleeping kids on the way home=success.

A Card of their Own

Today I took the kid to the Black Diamond library. It is a bit farther away than the Covington library, but a lot smaller so it is way more manageable for me.

The kids were very excited to get their own library cards.  I thought it was time for Ephraim, but Selah was allowed to get one too.

Their little writing on their cards is so cute.
Both kids got 5 books each and were so proud of themselves.

Helping herself

When you let your 9 month old try to feed herself oatmeal, this is what you get.
She then needs a bath in the kitchen sink.

Stair climbing

If the gate at the bottom of the stairs has been open today, this turkey has beelined to it and started to climb. It does not help that the bigs then race to the top to encourage her.

Daddy's soccer game

It isn't very often that Forrest has an indoor soccer game that we can actually go to.
6:30 on a Thursday?  Totally doable.
The funniest part was that everytime Forrest was not in the game Selah said he was in "timeout."

Trouble with a capital T

I just cleaned up this corner.

Throwback Thursday

One of the first pictures on my computer.  August 2007.  Forrest and I with my best friend from highschool, Jenn and her husband Kollin.  We were both pregnant.  She was 8 months along and I was about 6 weeks along with Ephraim.

March 7 on 10

This month I couldn't even manage to take 10 pictures on the 10th.  And that was with a reminder on Facebook.

This turkey takes all of her naps on me.  Her first nap is around 9.
Selah building houses out of dominos.

Our diffuser going.  I'm pretty sure I was diffusing "joy" because, Lord help us, we needed it this morning.

Taking a break and spinning.

Our current read a loud.  I think I am enjoying it more than Ephraim.

A bath with all three.  Ephraim and Selah had soccer practice in the pouring rain and were soaked.
A picture of the fat baby in a towel.  Just so I could get 7 pictures.
