Princess Tea Party

From August 10th

Our church put on a mommy and daughter tea party this summer for little girls 3-6.  It was so much fun.  Selah loved being able to dress up in a pretty dress and do something just with mommy.  

They had fun crafts for all the girls to do and yummy food.  

Selah loved her crown that she got to decorate.  

They ended the party with a bible story and a princess parade.  We had a lot of fun and I was reminded to do more one on one activities with our kids.  

Bath time

I had been giving Kinsley baths in the bathroom sink, but got out the baby bathtub recently.   Kinsley has always been really good about baths, but wasn't sure what to think. 

Her brother and sister thought it was awesome and wanted to help as much as I would let them.

Seriously.  No wonder I call Kinsley "Selah" ALL OF THE TIME.

The Birthmark

Before Kinsley grows too much hair, I want to document her cute little birthmark.  She is the only one of the three to have one and her hair is already getting thicker and starting to cover it up 

Kinsley at two months

Kinsley's stats at 2 months: 

Weight: 14 pounds 6 oz (99th %)

Height: 23.25 inches (87th%)

Head: 15.25 inches (49th%)

You know you have a big two month old when the computer asks the nurse if he is sure about the weight he is trying to input. 

EATING: Kinsley eats every 2 to 2.5 hours.  She nurses for about 8 minutes and only eats off of one side at a time. She doesn't spit up a whole lot and has a manly sounding burp.  

SLEEPING: She naps for 45 minutes to an hour during her 2 hour cycle. At night she is starting to do slightly longer cycles but is not consistent.  She will often go four hours at first and then go three hours and then returns to going two hours between feedings.  The nice thing is that she goes right back to sleep at night after eating, so even though we are up often it isn't for long.  Kinsley still sleeps in our room in a bassinet.  She is getting too big for it but is up too often to move to her room. She sleeps swaddled.   Her arm control has improved, but she calms quickly when swaddled.  

TOYS:  Kinsley enjoys laying on her play mat and has started to swat at the toys on it.  She likes her swing and often smiles at her reflection in the mirror.   She hasn't paid much attention to toys when she is in her tummy but that is because she often puts her head down, kicks her knees and scoots across her blanket.  

Kinsley is our big happy girl.  She is very content and hardly cries or fusses.  She does great putting up with her siblings who often get right up in her face to love on her. She hasn't started to coo or make a lot of sounds but she is very interactive.  She smiles with her whole face and smiles often.  She enjoys being outside and loves to look around.  

For a comparison - on top is Selah at two months and Kinsley is on the bottom.  Kinsley outweighs Selah by a pound!  They are still very similar looking but Kinsley is starting to be her own person.  

Sisters

I know that I have said it before, but these two look a lot alike.

Twin falls hike

Yesterday we went on our first hike as a family of five.  I had done some research and found a hike outside of North Bend that was rated really well for preschoolers. 

The hike started off pretty easy and then gradually got steeper. 

5.5 weeks old on her first hike.  She slept most if the hike and woke up twice to eat.

The bridge over the waterfall was 1.7 miles in. There had been an overlook a mile before that I had stopped and fed Kinsley at.  The kids were doing great so we went the whole way.

We played in the river in our way back down. We had about a half mile left back to the car and it got a bit whiny.  Selah was the leader and that kept her somewhat happy.

We had a great time hiking and can't wait to find another good hike for the kids.
