Helping herself

When you let your 9 month old try to feed herself oatmeal, this is what you get.
She then needs a bath in the kitchen sink.

Stair climbing

If the gate at the bottom of the stairs has been open today, this turkey has beelined to it and started to climb. It does not help that the bigs then race to the top to encourage her.

Daddy's soccer game

It isn't very often that Forrest has an indoor soccer game that we can actually go to.
6:30 on a Thursday?  Totally doable.
The funniest part was that everytime Forrest was not in the game Selah said he was in "timeout."

Trouble with a capital T

I just cleaned up this corner.

Throwback Thursday

One of the first pictures on my computer.  August 2007.  Forrest and I with my best friend from highschool, Jenn and her husband Kollin.  We were both pregnant.  She was 8 months along and I was about 6 weeks along with Ephraim.

March 7 on 10

This month I couldn't even manage to take 10 pictures on the 10th.  And that was with a reminder on Facebook.

This turkey takes all of her naps on me.  Her first nap is around 9.
Selah building houses out of dominos.

Our diffuser going.  I'm pretty sure I was diffusing "joy" because, Lord help us, we needed it this morning.

Taking a break and spinning.

Our current read a loud.  I think I am enjoying it more than Ephraim.

A bath with all three.  Ephraim and Selah had soccer practice in the pouring rain and were soaked.
A picture of the fat baby in a towel.  Just so I could get 7 pictures.

Nine months!

Somehow Kinsley is nine months old.  I'm not sure how time is going so fast. It needs to stop.

Her stats:
Weight: 23 pounds 2 ounces (97th percentile)
Head circumference: 17 inches (32nd percentile)
Height: 28 inches (65th percentile)

Kinsley has slimmed down!  To the 97th percentile!  Although she hardly grew at all so she is still comfortably fitting in 18 month clothing.

Moving: Kinsley is a girl on the go. She quickly crawls anywhere she wants.  She taught herself how to crawl up stairs so we had to put all of our gates up.  She has been pulling up to standing for over a month and is starting to let go and balance.  Walking will be in our future soon.

Eating: Kinsley still nurses every four hours.  Shortly after she turned 8 months she figured out that she actually likes real food and has been feeding herself since. She likes puffs, bananas, avocado, peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She is really good at her pincher grasp so she has also tried pine needles, pine cones, random dirt, and string.

Other likes: Kinsley loves her siblings. Se always smiles when Selah sings to her and Ephraim can make her laugh like no one else.
Dislikes: She still hates the dark. She does not like to be in the car by herself. Selah and Ephraim can make her happy when they are in the back seat, but going anywhere with just me and her is torture. She is still very attached to me, although it is getting better at home. I can usually take a shower and have her be with Forrest.  Nurseries at church are a whole other issue.  She hates them.  The minute we walk into the nursery at church or Tuesday mornings she starts to cry.  So she comes with me.  It won't last forever and her siblings were pretty similar at this age so I know it gets better.

Sleep: we are still cosleeping.  Although I am trying really hard to get her to sleep in her own bed.  She has been going down relatively easy, but is only lasting one sleep cycle (about 45 minutes).  She actually slept on her tummy once and u thought that might be the magic trick, but she still woke up. I will keep trying.
Overall Kinsley is a very sweet happy baby.  She is pretty easy to keep entertained and loves her family.  We like her a lot.

Go Beavs!

The PAC 12 women's basketball tournament was played in Seattle.  When I found out that Oregon State had made it into the championship game, I asked Forrest if we could go.

The game was at Key Arena.  We opted to only pay for general admission tickets.  We asked if we would need to pay for Selah, and the lady at the ticket office was awesome.  She told us it should be fine, but then gave us an extra ticket for free so that we wouldn't have a hard time.

Originally our seats were off to the side, but they moved us to the center so that the arena would look more full and be better for tv.
The kids loved watching the game. The also liked the popcorn and soda they got to eat too. B
Kinsley had fun listening to the bands.
Unfortunately the Beavs lost, but they should be getting into the NCAA tournament so not all hope is lost.
Since we left our house at 4:30 to get to the game, we had to make a stop at Dick's Drive In for burgers and fries after the game.

Every Day

Every day, multiple times a day, this happens.  Selah pulls Kinsley into her tummy.
Every day, multiple times a day, Selah gets in trouble for this.  It does not deter her.  Kinsley crying because Selah has inadvertently hurt her doesn't deter her.  At least I know she loves her sister.
